…not a big surprise after all: #TweetCampSA.

OK. It’s pretty predictable. But the #TweetCampSA hashtag is more than just a way for us to follow each other’s tweets at the event. By using the official #TweetCampSA hashtag on Twitter and simply TweetcampSA (no pound sign) to tag photos, videos, blogs posts and other online cotent across multiple social media networks and channels like Flickr, YouTube, Ustream, WordPress, etc. you can help the event live on long after it’s over.

So much rich, helpful, valuable and usable information will be shared at TweetCampSA. The #TweetCampSA Twitter hashtag and TweetcampSA tag will make it easy for you to find and refer to that content if and when you need it.

Use it well. Use it often. Include it in any  TweetCampSA info and content you reference or create across your social networks.

#TweetCampSA, the official Twitter hashtag of Tweetcamp San Antonio!

Every Tuesday and Friday, we will feature a TweetCamp San Antonio attendee on the blog to give you an insight of the diverse group of people that have come together thanks to the micro-blogging services that are reinventing the way we do communications. Feel free to follow these people and get a head start on TweetCamp San Antonio. If you haven’t done so already, don’t forget to RSVP!

Introducing TweetCamp attendee @timhan

timhan

1. Who are you?

Tim Hanson or @timhan

2. What do you do?

Public relations and marketing.

3. Why social media?

Because even though it’s a rough time to make transitions, social media is the direction in which the world is moving now.

4. How do you use micro-blobbing services like Twitter for work/business?

I use them to keep up-to-date on issues of the day, world developments, stocks and local information. I’m a complete information junky – micro-blogging services like Twitter fit my A.D.D/A.D.H.D.-ness perfectly

5. How, if at all, do you use microbbling services for personal purposes?

Not yet.

6. Tell us a Twitter success story

I was writing a presentation about social media and its impact on society and, right about that time, @andinarvaez posted a link about Birmingham City University offering a new Master’s program in social media, which I used and highlighted during my presentation.

7. Twitter FAIL story? Lesson (s) learned?

None yet. But knock on wood…

8. Any additional words of wisdom?

I heart 140 characters or less (I think we should make t-shirts that say that).

9. [Cheating, three-part question] Your favorite Twitter follows? Why do you follow them? Have you ever met them?
@WSJ (Wall Street Journal), @DrudgeReport, @NYT, @Nickdonnelly, @samlerma, @colleenpence, @meghanstabler, @andinarvaez

The news Twitterers keep me up-to-date. The others provide relevant information about local news, Twitter and other social media updates (I’m a neophyte to Twitter). And yes, I actually met several of them at the San Antonio Media/PR/Business tweetup.

10. Your Twitter pet peeve?

To the people who are pushy about their marketing pyramid schemes I say, “thanks, but no.” Also, the people who are always reminding you to vote or take action on something – if I didn’t do it the first time, chances are I’m not going to do it even if you tell me 20 times. Reminder…less is more.
